LaDainian
Tomlinson sets a new Career High with 4 tds against the
NY Jets
The
late dramatics came following yet another stellar performance
from running back LaDainian Tomlinson. L.T. scored on
each of San Diego’s first three possessions and
added a fourth touchdown on the day to become the first
Charger to find the end zone four times in a game since
Chuck Muncie accomplished the feat on Nov. 29, 1981. Tomlinson
finished with 107 yards on 25 carries and added three
catches for 46 yards.
L.T.’s
first touchdown of the day came on a four-yard run that
was set up by a 17-yard catch by tight end Antonio Gates.
Tomlinson followed it up with a 25-yard catch and run
roughly five minutes later. Jets All-Pro cornerback Ty
Law had a shot to stop L.T. near the 15-yard line following
the catch, but Tomlinson shook Law in the open field to
give the Bolts a 14-0 opening-quarter lead.
